The chart and graph below give information about participants who have entered the Olympics since it began.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart and graph provide statistics on the number of athletes having enrolled in the Olympics over a 88-year span, from the year 1924.
In general, during the survey, The number of male participants was consistently higher than that of female counterparts. Furthermore, an upward trend was depicted in both charts, despite the dissimilarity in patterns.
Regarding the bar chart, in the first examined year, the figure for men accounted for 3000 attendances, in comparison with no one in the females data. In the next 60 years, after an upsurge to reach 4500, the number of male participants slackened. Thereafter, it maintained a gradual increase to reach double, compared to the first year. On the other hand, the female counterparts slightly rose to 1500 in 1984, then, suddenly witnessed a dramatic sky-rocketing to attain 4800 in 2012.
In terms of the line graph, in the first 60 years, a consistent growth can be seen in the total number of athletes ( from 2800 to approximately 6200). From 1984 to 2012, it experienced an escalation to surpass 10000.
